PUBLIC NOTICE (February 1, 2023): Rising energy demand has resulted in a significant increase in fuel needs (natural gas) for power generation. In July 2022, the City of Camden implemented a per kilowatt hour Purchase Power Adjustment Surcharge (PPA) on all electric usage. The current PPA rate is $0.015 per kilowatt hour.

Download and print the Bank Draft Payment Form, complete and bring to City Hall with a voided check. Or, complete and email to Stephanie Bowers, email@example.com, with a photo of a voided check. Please make sure that routing and account numbers are clearly visible.
Customer Service/Utility Billing Department
The Customer Service/Utility Billing Department is located at 1000 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020. This department is responsible for the billing and collection of all utility bills. All requests for utility service on residential and commercial customers start here, along with business license requests and payment of building permits.
Senior Rate Credit
City of Camden utility customers may qualify for a monthly bill credit of $25.00. If you are 65 or more years of age and have a total family income of less than 200% of federal poverty level for a family of 2, as established by the Department of Health and Human Services OR you are totally and permanently disabled according to the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) definition of disability and have a total family income of less than 200% of federal poverty level for a family of 2, as established by the Department of Health and Human Services, you qualify for a monthly utility billing credit of $25.00. City of Camden customers are required to confirm their status at least once per year. A customer is entitled to one Senior Rate Credit per month, regardless of the number of accounts held by the customer.

The SC Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) enables low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Funds are used to improve the energy performance of dwellings families in need, using the most advanced technologies and testing procedures available in the housing industry. To be eligible for this benefit program you must be a South Carolina resident and you must need help with home energy costs. Contact Kenneth Barnes for more information at 803-250-2984
Preference is given to:
Elderly – 60 years of age and older
Disabled – Families with one or more members with a disability
Households with children under age 18
If you receive Supplemental Security Income or Aid to Families with Dependent Children, you are automatically eligible to receive weatherization services.
