WHERE CAN I PAY MY UTILITY BILL?

The City of Camden Utility Billing Department is located within City Hall, 1000 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020.

8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

HOW DO I GET RESIDENTIAL POWER?

You will need to come into the Customer Service Office at City Hall and apply in person. The following information is required:

  • Name of person requesting service
  • Service address
  • Date service requested
  • Phone Number
  • Name of spouse/partner
  • Copy of Lease/Rental Agreement if Renting
  • Copy of Proof of Ownership if Purchasing
  • Two forms of identification for each adult that will be living at the residence:
    • Must have a photo ID:
      • Drivers License,
      • Passport, or
      • State issued photo ID card
    • The second form of identification can be one of the following:
      • Social Security Card,
      • Any legal or government ID such as a tax return, Medicare/Medicaid card,
      • Current paycheck stub, or
      • Employment ID card or badge (can only be used as 1 form of identification)

IS THERE A SERVICE CHARGE?

Yes, a fee of $25.00 is required at the time of service request.

IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED?

A refundable deposit in the amount of $300.00 is required on all NON-OWNER occupied residential locations. The deposit is applied to the account at the time of final billing and any refunds due are then mailed to the customer’s last known address.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HAVE SERVICES CONNECTED?

If application for service is made prior to 2:00 p.m. for residential service then connection can usually be made the same day.  Any requests for service after 2:00 p.m. will be scheduled for the next working day. Commercial service requires 3-5 business days to connect.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR COMMERCIAL SERVICE?

Application must be made at City Hall. Requirements for identification are the same as residential accounts. Commercial accounts are also required to complete an electric load profile questionnaire and a water survey questionnaire. Application for a business license may also occur at this time.

IS A DEPOSIT REQUIRED ON COMMERCIAL ACCOUNTS?

Yes.  Deposit amounts will vary depending upon prior billing history of location. Contact customer service for the deposit amount.

WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?

Cash, check, debit/credit card or money order are accepted. There is a 2.5% convenience fee for all debit or credit card transactions.

You may also authorize an automatic bank draft each month by downloading and completing this form and bring to City Hall with a voided check, or email to Stephanie Bowers, sbowers@camdensc.org, with a photo of a voided check. Please make sure both routing and account numbers are visible.

DO YOU HAVE ONLINE BILL PAY?

Yes. You can review, print and pay your utility bill online. We accept debit and credit cards online. The 2.5% convenience fee for debit/credit cards also applies to online payments.
