Walk the battlefields and learn about our fight for Liberty. Sink your teeth into amazing BBQ at the Battle of Camden BBQ fest. And DO NOT miss the Southern Campaign 1780’s Battle of Camden Annual Revolutionary War reenactment, the largest Force-on-Force Revolutionary War reenactment in the nation.

Kershaw 250th

Go back in time and discover some of the important moments in the Revolutionary period that are connected to Kershaw County – from the renaming of Pine Tree Hill to honor Lord Camden, to defining declarations and a year-long occupation, to pivotal battles and important skirmishes.

Battle of Camden Revolutionary War Reenactment

Battle of Camden Revolutionary War Reenactment is the largest Annual Force-on-Force Rev. War reenactment in the nation and Camden has been its home for 50 years! The reenactment is now held at 1208 Keys Lane Kershaw, SC, (near North Central High School). For more information, admission details, directions, driving map, visit Southern Campaign 1780.

Take in Some Living History!

Offering visitors the opportunity to engage in history through demonstrations like blacksmithing or brickmaking, hearing our farm manager discuss 18th century agriculture, or touring our historic homes, helps to protect and educate for those in the generations to come, visit Historic Camden.  

 

Battle of Camden Barbeque Fest

If you love barbeque, then you’ll love this juried event that draws hundreds of BBQ lovers from around the region. Taste, explore and experience true Southern BBQ featuring some of the best pit masters, pros and amateurs in the southeast. Friday night is all about the chicken wing. Our competitors will be serving up smoked wings for you to try all night. Saturday is all about the pulled pork. Our competitors serve up some of the most unrivaled pulled pork in the south until it’s gone!

All of Camden’s major museums will be celebrating and highlighting events, activities and stories from the American Revolutionary War, so get off the battleield and stop in at the Revolutionary War Visitor Center or Camden Archives and Museum for even more Revolutionary War History.
