Shop Small “Plaid Friday” & Small Business Saturday

November 28 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Camden Cultural District as they celebrate “Plaid Friday” November 28th and Small Business Saturday® on November 29th. Participating small businesses in Camden and Kershaw County have added great items to this year’s Shop Small goodie bags, which will be available to the first 100 shoppers who stop by Broad Street Park, on the corner of Broad and Rutledge Streets in Downtown Camden between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm on Friday the 28th.

“Plaid Friday” is an alternative to the commonly known “Black Friday” where independent business advocacy groups encourage their communities to bring back the time when shopping for friends and family was a pleasurable leisurely activity.  It is celebrated throughout the nation as part of the “Shop Indie Local” campaign.

Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses and communities across the country and is part of the larger Shop Small Movement. Founded by American Express in 2010, this day is celebrated each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the U.S. Since it started in 2010, consumers have reported spending an estimated $200 billion at small businesses on the day.
