Join the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Camden Cultural District as they celebrate “Plaid Friday” November 29th and the 15th Annual Small Business Saturday® on November 30th. Your favorite small businesses in Camden and Kershaw County have added great items to this year’s Shop Small goodie bags, which will be available to the first 150 shoppers who stop by Broad Street Park, on the corner of Broad and Rutledge Streets in Downtown Camden between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm on Friday the 29th.
“Plaid Friday” is an alternative to the commonly known “Black Friday” where independent business advocacy groups encourage their communities to bring back the time when shopping for friends and family was a pleasurable leisurely activity. It is celebrated throughout the nation as part of the “Shop Indie Local” campaign.
On its 15th annual Small Business Saturday this November, American Express will donate $1 for each purchase made with an eligible American Express card at qualifying small businesses across the US to expand its grant commitment to support small businesses impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The company founded Small Business Saturday in 2010, coming out of the U.S. financial crisis, to help drive consumer spending to small, independently-owned merchants and restaurants during the critical holiday shopping season.
