Pine Needle Basketry is an old skill that has again become popular with fine crafters in recent years. South Carolina is a great place for pine needle basketry, as we are right in the middle of the Southeast’s belt of long-needle pines.
Janice Phillips has been making pine needle baskets for nearly 5 years, adding artistic vision and whimsy to her skilled work. She will be teaching a 5-hour basic pine needle basketry class on 5/4/24 10a-4p at the Camden Art Shoppes at 1011 Broad Street, Camden, SC. Time will be provided for students to get their own lunch. $75/person includes all supplies needed to make your basket.
