FBI (Fungi, Bacteria and Invertebrates) explorer camp!
June 17th
9am-noon for ages 3-7
1:00pm-4:00pm for ages 8-14
The decomposition process doesn’t happen on its own. Fungi, bacteria, and invertebrates do the dirty work of decomposing living matter and recycling it back into the earth to become something new. After a short indoor lesson learning about different types of decomposers and why their work is so important, the group will head outside to look for evidence of decomposition.
The group will use detective skills to see if they can find the organisms responsible for this incredible process, and along the way hold some worms, find insects crawling under logs, and explore the colors and textures of fungus.
