Lunch & Learn: A Meteor Shining Brightly

Said to be the ugliest man in Britain, Lord Rawdon’s climb to Lieutenant Colonel during the American Revolution may have come as a surprise to many. This Irish lord impressed Sir Henry Clinton and General Cornwallis with his leadership and strategy skills. Lord Rawdon occupied the city of Camden for 11 months during the American Revolution and only fell back towards Charleston, not because he had lost a battle, but due to insufficient troops and supplies. 2023-2024 SC Teacher of the Year, Mike Burgess once again returns to the Rev War Visitor Center to share Lord Rawdon’s story. Bring your lunch and get to know the British commander in charge during the Battle of Hobkirk’s Hill.
(You bring your lunch and we will provide the learning opportunity!)
