Irish Fest Camden 2024

Irish Fest Camden returns for the eighth straight year, culminating with the grand celebration on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site.
The event is a non-profit entity with proceeds benefitting Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Camden. Nearly 200 members of the church and community annually volunteer their time to work the festival.
A portion of the proceeds will also be distributed to various local non-profit entities.
Throughout the week of the festival, Camden businesses are invited to help join in the festivities by decorating their storefronts in an Irish theme. A committee will visit the locations with the winner receiving a unique award.
Here is a listing of the week’s festivities:
* Returning to the festivities is the Friday night Pub Crawl on Friday, March 1. The evening is a night of live music at various venues in Camden from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. A complete list of participating venues and performers will be forthcoming.
* One of the most popular events of the festival is the seventh annual Lucky Leprechaun 5K race/walk to be run at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 2 at the Town Green in Camden. Registration is currently taking place online at: runsignup.com/Race/SC/Camden/LuckyLeprechaunSC5K.
* The week of festivities leads up to the grand celebration at Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site. The celebration begins at 10 a.m. and commences at 5 p.m.
The day-long, family friendly event features food and beverage vendors spread through the expansive grounds including an authentic Irish pub featuring Shepherd’s Pie. The Highland Games, a staple of the festival since its start, brings together athletes from throughout the Southeast to compete in such events as the open stone throw, the Braemer Stone throw, the Sheaf and the light and heavy hammer toss have piqued the interest of festival-goers, many of whom are getting their first look at these unique athletic events.
Experience live Celtic music on three stages, featuring headliner Syr, a Celtic folk rock band from Columbia, SC.  Enjoy other international artists from Ireland and Canada, Irish dancing, bagpipes and drums.
Kids will have a blast in the two-acre Kids Zone with inflatables, face painting, and the craft tent. Over 100 vendors will meet your retail therapy needs. Adults and children alike will enjoy the majestic Irish Gypsy Vanner horses and the Irish Wolfhounds’ “Kiss Me I’m Irish” booth.
Indulge in delicious festival treats from more than 40 vendors in the food truck arena. Wet your whistle at the Irish whiskey tasting tent or with a variety of Irish brews or green beer. Enjoy the Irish Pub tent serving up hot shepherd’s pie and live pub music.
For the second straight year, hurling teams — the national sport of Ireland — from throughout the southeast will gather in Camden to compete for the Irish Fest Camden Cup.
