Historic Preservation Month: Scan Day at the Archives & African American Cultural Center

Camden Archives & Museum Needs Your Help!

Has your family lived in Camden for several generations? 

Do you have some old family documents or photos that have never been scanned?

Camden Archives and Museum is asking for your help in preserving our rich history. Open to all individuals, families, and organizations in Kershaw County. Archives’ staff will collect any items (from any date) that you would like to share, scan them, and return original items to you along with digital copies within 30 days.

The following items are welcomed as long as they are no bigger than 11” x 17” (Our scanners cannot accommodate anything larger):

Photographs, Documents (funeral programs, church histories, family charts/histories, newspaper clippings, items related to groups/organizations in Camden or Kershaw County, etc.), Pamphlets, Items related to schools in Kershaw County

*If you have photographs of groups of people and know the identities of those people, please write down the names in advance and bring them with you!

Drop off items to be scanned at 1314 Broad Street OR 517 York Street, Camden
