Creeks and Canoes

Explore creek habitat and the creatures that live in it with our nets, magnifying lenses, and aquatic tools. Learn about what makes an aquatic habitat unique and meet critters that live in the water up close. Then, explore from above by creating your very own tiny canoe to race downstream!

What to bring/wear: Students encouraged to come with a full, reusable water bottle. Please send students with closed toe shoes, outdoor boots and/or rainboots/ preferred. Students may choose to bring a lightweight, small backpack or daypack with spare socks (incase of wet creek feet). Please help students dress appropriate for the weather.
Directions: From Walmart in Camden head north on Springdale Drive, toward the race track. Chestnut Ferry Road (a dirt road) crosses over Springdale drive at the bend. Turn left onto Chestnut Ferry road and continue down until you see our pinecone logo sign. Our driveway is the last on the left. After proceeding through our gate, do not stop in the maintenance lot. Continue down our long driveway, past the right turn, and into the parking area. You will see our green and tan restroom building.
