RESCHEDULED DUE TO WEATHER: Artists in the Sanctuary

This event has been RESCHEDULED to Sunday, February 22 due to the threat of inclement weather this weekend.

Enjoy a Sunday afternoon filled with music and other talents.This concert will feature the talents of saxophonist Ken Cheeks.

Mr. Cheeks is a retired master teacher and contemporary saxophonists. He served 7 years as a music instructor at Benedict College, Columbia, SC, followed by 27 years as an award winning Band Director at Alcorn Middle School, Richland School District One, Columbia South Carolina. Ken has performed throughout the southeast tri-state areas. Since retiring from public school teaching in May of 2014, he continues his passion for education as a National Trainer with the Center for Teacher Effectiveness, specializing in classroom management. Additionally, he continues to teach instrumental music privately and performs as a solo artist and bandleader, providing musical services that sets just the right mood for any occasion.

“Artists in the Sanctuary” is a community-based outreach initiative under the sponsorship of the Camden Second Presbyterian Church, in partnership with the Downtown Camden Cultural District, and receives funding through the Althea James Truitt Memorial Arts Fund. Students who would like to share their talent (vocal & instrumental music, poetry, public speaking, liturgical dancing, etc.) with an audience are encouraged to participate.
