Archaeologists in Action: Walking Tour of the Camden Battlefield

Meet the American Veterans Archaeological Recovery team as they work to uncover new insights about the Battle of Camden
Meet the Archaeologists!
Join us for a walking tour of the work being done by the American Veterans Archaeological Recovery team on the Camden Battlefield.
You’ll see the team in action using a systematic metal-detection survey to uncover artifacts on the battlefield.
Walking tours are 30 minutes long and begin in the parking lot of the Camden Battlefield and Longleaf Pine Preserve.
What to Know Before Registering:
This walk will be of easy to moderate difficulty on somewhat uneven terrain.
Visitors should wear appropriate footwear to walk off-trail and be prepared for the weather conditions that day. As long as the conditions are safe for the team to work, tours will be rain or shine.
Depending on where the team is working, it may take a10-15 minute walk to reach them. Bringing water is recommended.
Tickets are free, but donations to the program are always greatly appreciated.
