Mental Health Crisis Forum: Critical Community Conversation on Mental Health in Kershaw County

May 7 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

This collaborative session will bring together key stakeholders from across our community, including Sheriff Boan, with the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department, Judge Branham, Kershaw County Probate Court Judge, Jeffrey Ham, the Executive Director of Mental Health for Santee-Lynches, as well as representatives from the SC Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services, Camden Police Department, s, school district leadership, detention center staff, mental health professionals, and community service providers. This will be an online streaming event from the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page.

One of our primary focuses will be addressing the needs of individuals in Adult Protective Services who are currently cycling through systems without adequate support. By working together, we can create more effective pathways to connect these vulnerable community members with appropriate resources.

Our collective action can potentially improve outcomes for those in need while simultaneously reducing the burden on our law enforcement agencies, allowing them to better focus on emergency response and community safety.
