October 3rd Fire Safety\n-Why do we need Fire?\n-Firelighting\n-Basic foraging and plants to avoid\n-Campfire & “Survival Smores” \n4. October 10th “Water Safety”\n-Why do we need water?\n-Where can we find water?\n-How can we purify water?\n-Basic First Aide \nWhat to bring/wear: All activity supplies included. Students should come with a full\, reusable water bottle. Please help students to dress appropriatly for the weather. We encourage students to come with long pants to help protect legs in nature\, and closed-toed shoes. Rainboots or outdoor shoes preferred. Students may choose to bring a lightweight backpack or daypack with extra socks (incase of wet creek feet) or watershoes. \nDirections: Our address is 247 Chestnut Ferry Road in Camden. From Walmart in Camden head north on Springdale Drive\, toward the race track. Chestnut Ferry Road (a dirt road) crosses over Springdale drive at the bend. Turn left onto Chestnut Ferry road and continue down until you see our pinecone logo sign. Our driveway is the last on the left. After proceeding through our gate\, do not stop in the maintenance lot. Continue down our long driveway\, past the right turn\, and into the parking area. You will see our green and tan restroom building near the trailhead. If you are arriving in a bus\, the bus parking is just beyond the fire hydrant on the left side of the driveway.

Bring a picnic dinner\, grab some takeout from your favorite local restaurant or enjoy food and beverages available for purchase on site. \nOn Thursday\, October 12th\, you can swing the night away with The Tony Torre Orchestra. Led by Tony Torre\, the band is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. This 15 piece Big Band based out of Myrtle Beach will be playing an evening of swing hits with an occasional turn to blues\, beach music and pop favorites. Music begins at 6:00 pm with a local student musician as the opening act. The Tony Torre Orchestra will play from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. \nBeer and wine are permitted on Town Green during the hours of the concerts. No glass containers are allowed on Town Green. In the event of cancelation due to weather\, notifications will be placed on the City’s website and Downtown Camden Cultural District social media channels.

DESCRIPTION:Trick or Treat on the Trail at The Nature as Teacher Preserve for Education will be Friday\, October 20! \nAll community centered organizations are invited to prepare thoughtful\, fun\, educational and exciting Trick-or-Treat Stations for our guests that walk the Trick-or-Treat Trail! Who do you think will win this year? \nTo help ensure everyone’s safety\, visitors enjoying the Trick-or-Treat Trail this year will be required to register for a free parking pass with specified arrival times. Get yours now and get your spot! \nWhat to bring/wear: This is a family friendly event. Come in costume (optional) and bring bags/buckets for collecting treats along the trail. The Trick-or-Treat-Trail loop is about a 10 minute walk on gravel and mulch with “spooky” animal learning stations along the way! Be sure to wear footwear appropriate for the outdoors. Strollers & wagons welcome. Please help children dress appropriately for the weather. \nPlease\, no bikes\, scooters or motorized vehicles on the trail. Dogs welcomed on leash. \nDirections: Be sure to print and display your parking pass receipt or have a screenshot ready on your phone. From Walmart in Camden head north on Springdale Drive\, toward the race track. Chestnut Ferry Road (a dirt road) crosses over Springdale drive at the bend. Turn left onto Chestnut Ferry road and continue down until you see our pinecone logo sign. Our driveway is the last on the left. After proceeding through our gate\, do not stop in the maintenance lot unless you do not have a parking pass or arrive outside of your identified time. Continue down our long driveway\, past the right turn\, and into the parking area. You will see our green and tan restroom building near the trailhead.
