DESCRIPTION:The Blankets & Bands free concert series returns to Town Green this fall on Thursdays\, September 18\, October 2\, October 16 and October 30. Bring your blanket or lawn chair and join friends and family for some live music outdoors in Downtown Camden. \nBlankets and Bands kicks off this fall on Thursday\, September 18th with the return of Latin Caravan. Move to the sounds of Latin Jazz\, Salsa\, Merengue\, and more. Bring a picnic or enjoy take out from one of the local restaurants. \nAll concerts will be held on Thursdays\, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm\, weather permitting\, with a student or young musician performing the opening act and the headlining band taking the stage at 6:30 pm. Beer and wine are permitted on Town Green during the hours of the concerts. No glass containers are allowed on Town Green. In the event of relocation or cancelation due to weather\, notifications will be placed on the City’s website and social media channels. \nThe Blankets & Bands concert series is a partnership between the Downtown Camden Cultural District and the Arts Center of Kershaw County\, bringing free\, live music to the community during the spring and fall months.

SUMMARY:Homeschool Day: Becoming a State
DESCRIPTION:Once a month\, the Rev War Center offers a free homeschool day where small school groups can come together and experience one of the educational programs offered by the Center. A minimum of ten students will be needed to host these educational programs\, if the minimum is not met then parents will be notified a week prior that the program will be canceled. Programs are geared toward students in 3rd grade through high school. Younger students are welcome to attend and follow along\, but will need the assistance of their guardian throughout the program. Adults are welcome to sit in on the program\, just be aware that the focus will be on teaching the young students present. \nSign up today at simplyrevolutionary.com \nOctober: Becoming a State \nStudents will declare their own independence from the United States by following the example/ blueprint of the country’s own Declaration of Independence from Britain. After declaring independence students will be tasked with setting up a new government with five inalienable rights using the reasons from their previously submitted declaration. Bring your blanket or lawn chair and join friends and family for some live music outdoors in Downtown Camden. \nOn October 16th\, Blankets & Bands welcomes back the Bout Tyme Band\, playing fun songs and danceable tunes that you will recognize immediately. Get ready to groove! \nAll concerts will be held on Thursdays\, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm\, weather permitting\, with a student or young musician performing the opening act and the headlining band taking the stage at 6:30 pm. Beer and wine are permitted on Town Green during the hours of the concerts. No glass containers are allowed on Town Green. In the event of relocation or cancelation due to weather\, notifications will be placed on the City’s website and social media channels. \nThe Blankets & Bands concert series is a partnership between the Downtown Camden Cultural District and the Arts Center of Kershaw County\, bringing free\, live music to the community during the spring and fall months.
